Galactic Wars 3 Version 1.2
Today I am releasing the very first full version of Galactic Wars 3 v1.2 for the Zune. This version contains several bug fixes and more functionality. Most importantly, it is the first version to include high scores tracking with name input. It is also the first version to allow you to switch control schemes between the touch pad and the DPad though for simplicity’s sake all UI is controlled by the DPad regardless. I have also moved the content loading upfront so starting a new game takes much less time. Last but not least, this version supports the Andromeda (Hard) gameplay mode which gives you more points for a kill but is much harder.
As always, comments, critiques and suggestions are always welcomed!

I added a TouchPad “debug” display to the main game to try to diagnose why one of my Zunes was behaving weird and the controls wouldn’t respond at times. I wasn’t sure if it was the game or my Zune, but it looks like my Zune has a bad Touchpad that fails to respond at times or gets stuck on firing.
Contact me if you want me to send you the gfx/code since it may be useful for other people.

That is very strange. I will work on it, in the mean time make sure that you have installed all the necessary components and that everything is up to date with current service packs, etc.

Hey Dallas…I just fixed the same problem. On the right hand side of C Sharp, there is a drop down menu. Double-Click “properties”. Scroll down to “Manifest”. By default, it should read “embed manifest with default settings”. Change the setting to “create application without a manifest”. This has worked with me to solve the problems. If not, just search…That’s what I did to find the solution. good luck

This game is sweet. It works pretty well on my 30 Gb zune, kinda glitchy at times though, but it still works well.

“Happy”- Please make sure you download the correct version. It is likely you are running the 3.0 firmware and thus need the newest version of GW3, version 1.3 which is available on the Zune Games page.

Happy - You will need C# Express 2008 or higher. Open it in Visual Studio (with XNA 3.0 Beta installed), select your Zune from the XNA Studio Device Center (on the toolbar) and then right click on the Zune project and select Deploy.
